Changes in IJAIED Editors in Chief
A new stage in the IJAIED, the journal where the most recent advances in Artificial Intelligence and Education are published and which is included in the most relevant journal indexes (e.g. Web of Science, Scopus, …), has started today.
Vincent Aleven and Judy Kay have been successfully leading the journal for the last 11 years in a wonderful manner, including the achievement of the impact factor in the JCR ranking of the Web of Science, with a score of 4.7 in 2023, making the journal Q1 in its category.
And now it is time for a change. The succession process will be staggered to facilitate the transition to the new editors. Judy will be the first to step out. There are no words to thank Judy for the work and effort put not only in the journal but in the IAIED Society (no surprisingly, she received the IAIED Lifetime achievement award in 2023). Vincent, the other keystone of the journal, will stay to share the expertise and help a smooth transition to Cristina Conati and Marcus Specht, two well known and leading researchers in our field. They are also very brave as they have volunteered to take over the leadership of the journal in the current challenging times, with so many submissions as AIED is fashionable. In fact, running the journal is more challenging than ever as we are on track to receive 1,000 submissions this year, by far a record (following three years that were also record-setting years).
We are all enthusiastic for this new stage in the journal, which requires the involvement and support of all IAIED society members to keep the journal as an impactful venue to publish AI + ED relevant and innovative research.
